1.1 Background of the study:

The world has reached into the golden era of Internet. But it is very sorry to say that we can't keep ourselves of this track. And that's why we are going down in the economic sector. Almost every government offices are not connected with the web fully. The constitutional paper based system creates barriers in the course of prosperity of the country. This system is also time consuming and very much irritating.

The well-demanded and very prosperous sector of World Wide Web is now very well established and day-by-day this sector is concerning people in a rapid manner. Hence it will be very fruitful to develop such a web that concerns totally with people. Again the overwhelming demand makes it as a requirement for the purpose of people.

The public information is one of the most important sectors of the government. To voter of the public is the most irritating and time-consuming event for who create voter list. That's the reason why we are going to make the electronic voter list system. Which will provide a easy and efficient voter list system for mass people.

The entire voter list system of our country is cumbersome and time consuming. Sometime it crosses the limit of patience of who create voter list. Then if it is possible to develop such a web that will help agent to get rid of that lengthy and cumbersome process. Again this modern world provides the opportunity to spread the entire system all over the country.

In any information collection, it is crucial to handle and maintain information properly and efficiently. To obtain this, it is needed to have a robust system that can provide information to be exchanged in an effective way, both in the client; in this case any browser is chosen and server side. To exchange information it is of course needed to have client end tools and a server end tools PHP is comparatively a new technology that is platform independent. On the other hand MySQL is the chosen database that is very popular and well suited with PHP. MySQL is taken as server side tools.

1.2 Objectives:

The main objective of the proposed system is to reduce the irritating and time consuming paper based system in the sector of public information. And in this process we are going to develop the system which consist the following features:

a) Any user will have an easy access to the web and he will have a brief history of the voter information.

b) An online registration system for new voter will be there.

c) Target voter list more accurately.

d) There will be an option to see the current condition of voter list of each voter.

e) To develop a system that eliminates manual management thus reduces the possibility of error and increase security.

f) To develop and provide a system that is upgradeable to any kind of voter requirements.

1.3 Brief Outline of Methodology:

The methodology for developing the software was divided into different components, which are described below:

1.3.1 Data study and analysis

The data of this project is the crucial part of the decision making process of an enterprise. Thus proper study and analysis of data is very import thing for this software. Data collection process also is the vital part of this software development process.

1.3.2 Building Entity-Relationship Diagram

After the thorough study and analysis of data, the basis notions of the ER model – entity sets, relationship sets and attributes were identified. Then the ER diagram were developed and preceded to normalization. ER diagram is important in the sense that with this diagram we can visualise the whole enterprise in the process oriented fashion.

1.3.3 Data normalization and Table Design.

A set of tables generated from the ER model was reviewed and further normalization was done where necessary. Normalization reduces data redundancy, makes efficient data retrieval process and simplifies the most complex part of this software.

1.3.4 Database Creation.

After the final review of the normalised tables, a MySQL database was created.

1.3.5 Software and Interface Design.

In this phase, the major structural elements of the software and their relationships i.e. the architectural design was developed. Next the interfaces were designed using a rapid application development tool PHP.

1.3.6 Coding, Error Handling and Debugging.

Each module was coded using PHP. In every steps to write code for the interfaces, error handling and data validation were incorporated. During the coding phase of the interfaces, debugging of codes was accomplished.

1.3.7 Testing the Software.

The software was tested intensively after completion of coding, error handling and debugging phase. The error found in the testing phase is reported and corrected instantly.

1.3.8 Documentation and User's Manual Creation.

Online documentation and help files were produced after successful testing of the software for using the software efficiently and effectively.

1.4 Scope of the Project:

Throughout the project the entire management system is automated by using a Database and a Scripting Language. The software developed to helping the different management decision process. Proper analysis of the internal and external data makes a voter list.
